Liguria
Superb scenery!

The capital of Liguria is Genoa, also known as the largest port in Italy. Walking through Genoa will give you an incredible sight of show-piece buildings. The queen of all buildings is without a doubt the Cattedrale di San Lorenzo, with a stunning treasury. Furthermore several medieval churches and a collection of late Renaissance palaces are worth visiting..

But Liguria is not only Genoa. The scenery in the whole region is superb: fishing villages, vineyards and mountains including the Monte di Portofino, which offers great views over the sea. There are many chic resorts situated along the coast, including Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure.

San Remo, which is a center of the Italian flower industry, its hillsides covered in glasshouses is also home to the annual Italian Music festival. The region does not lack in prestigious and charming venues for meetings and gala dinners.

Ligurian cooks rely on the sea, yet their skills shine with produce from the steep hillsides: pale golden olive oil, garden greens, meats and poultry, mushrooms, nuts, herbs, the ingredients for the sauces they call tocchi (touches), above all basil and garlic for the glorious green pesto

This region is reached very easily by the airport in Genoa.
